Youth and Family
Services helps 1500 children
and families each year,
including 200 youth in the
shelter. Each year, over
20,000 hours and 5,000
service days are provided by
a caring team of
professionals. YFS operates
with nearly 50 staff members
and is governed by a
volunteer board of
directors. The funding for
YFS is provided by private
donations, city, county,
state and federal grants and
contracts, Medicaid, private
insurances, United Way, and
client fees (based on an
income sensitive sliding-fee
scale). Clients are never
refused service based on
inability to pay.
